Newly accredited Russian ambassador pays courtesy call on National Assembly Speaker

The newly accredited ambassador of the Russian Federation, Kirill Sokolov‑Shcherbachev, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Hon. Azarel Ernesta, on Friday, August 14, 2026. The ambassador was accompanied by Alexander Odoevskiy, counsellor of the Russian embassy in Seychelles.

Hon. Ernesta welcomed Ambassador Sokolov‑Shcherbachev to his new role and extended her best wishes for his tenure.

In turn, the ambassador acknowledged Hon. Ernesta’s historic appointment as the first female Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles and wished her continued success in her leadership.
