Seychellois artist Leon Radegonde was formally presented with the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Art Award yesterday morning at the Minister’s meeting room, Botanical House.
The presentation was made by Minister for Tourism & Culture Amanda Bernstein, on behalf of the Department of Culture, Arts and National Heritage, through the Creative Seychelles Agency, following Mr Radegonde’s selection as Seychelles’ laureate in the second edition of the international awards, which recognise artistic excellence.
Mr Radegonde was unable to attend the official ceremony held on May 13, 2026 at the Osei Tutu II Auditorium, Manhyia Palace, Kumasi, Ghana. Yesterday’s event provided an opportunity to formally honour his achievement at home.
