SHRC advances investigation, calls for more resources |25 April 2026

The Seychelles Human Rights Commission, jointly tasked with investigating the Montagne Posée prison riot alongside the Ombudsman, has made significant progress and is expected to deliver its full report soon.

This was announced by Commissioner Roger Toussaint during a press conference yesterday morning at the Dream Gate Complex, Ile Du Port. He was joined by chairperson Justice Bernardin Renaud, deputy chairperson Nichole Tirant-Gherardi, and commissioner Barbara Carolus-Andre to present the Seychelles Human Rights Commission’s (SHRC) 2025 Annual Report.
