Seychelles nears completion of updated climate pledge

A validation workshop on the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) – which outlines Seychelles’ climate ambition, commitments, and targets up to 2030 under the Paris Agreement – was held yesterday morning at the Savoy Seychelles Resort and Spa.

Organised by the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Energy and Natural Resources in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the workshop brought together key stakeholders to validate Seychelles’ third NDC.

The development of NDC 3.0 began last year and has undergone extensive consultations and technical reviews involving government agencies, development partners, civil society, and other stakeholders. The validation workshop marks a significant milestone before the document’s final submission.
