Praslin residents rally behind Patient Solidarity in dawn walk |13 April 2026

Around 30 individuals, the majority of them women, took part in the Patient Solidarity Dawn Walk held on Praslin.
The early Saturday morning event began at 4am and concluded at 7am, drawing Praslinois from a wide age range, with the youngest being a nine-year-old girl and the eldest being a 66-year-old woman.
The walk started at Batin junction, with walkers making their way through Grand Anse and Amitié before continuing up to Anse Kerlan, finishing at the entrance of Constance Lemuria Praslin Seychelles. There, the resort’s staff served fruits and water to those walking.
Patient Solidarity’s chairperson Dr Bernard Valentin, who was also present, said the initiative formed part of the national campaign against obesity while also serving as a fundraiser to support the non-governmental organisation’s ongoing activities.
Organisers opted for a dawn start to offer a more comfortable and unique experience. The absence of strong sunlight made the long-distance walk less physically demanding compared to later in the day.
