In recent years, the international landscape has become increasingly complex and volatile. Protracted regional conflicts, rising protectionism and unilateralism, repeated disruptions to global supply chains, and the interwoven challenges of energy, food security and climate change have all added to global uncertainty.

Against the backdrop of profound changes unseen in a century and the pressing challenges confronting global governance, President Xi Jinping, with strategic vision, put forward the Global Governance Initiative on September 1, last year.
