Seychelles has retained its ‘BB’ sovereign credit rating with a Stable Outlook from Fitch Ratings, a decision Finance Minister Pierre Laporte described as “very good news” and proof the country is weathering global pressures without compromising economic fundamentals.
Fitch affirmed Seychelles’ Long-Term Issuer Default Ratings at ‘BB’ on September 3, 2026, maintaining the grade despite slower growth, a sharp tourism shock, and higher government spending following the recent leadership transition.
