National Assembly passes landmark reform bill

The National Assembly Administration Bill, 2026 (Private Member’s Bill No. 1 of 2026) was approved yesterday during its third reading. Presented by Hon. Egbert Aglae, elected member for Port Glaud, the bill passed unanimously with 30 votes in favour.
At the committee stage, amendments were introduced. The motion for the amended bill to be read a third time received 20 votes in favour, none against, and 11 abstentions.
