National Assembly unanimously approves Trade Remedies Bill
By Mandy Bertin
The National Assembly has unanimously approved the Trade Remedies Bill, 2026 (Bill No. 11 of 2026), as amended, following its third reading yesterday.
The Bill was presented by Vice-President Sebastien Pillay, who described it as an important piece of legislation establishing the framework for implementing trade remedies in Seychelles.
He said the law forms part of a strategic effort to protect the economy, particularly a small economy such as Seychelles, from unfair trade practices. These include anti-dumping and countervailing measures, as well as safeguards against harmful import practices.
