National Assembly sets up environment, fisheries and tourism committee

The National Assembly has unanimously approved the creation of a committee on environment, fisheries and tourism during yesterday’s sitting.
The motion was tabled by the elected member for Port Glaud, Hon. Egbert Aglaé who emphasised the importance of strengthening parliamentary engagement in these critical sectors.
Amendments to its terms of reference were also presented and were proposed by Hon. Gervais Henrie. In his deliberation, Hon. Henrie said the committee is particularly important as it focuses on three key pillars that are central to the country’s development.
