Elections for SNYA’S 20th cohort gets underway

The Seychelles National Youth Council conducted the elections for the 20th cohort of the Seychelles National Youth Assembly, which started yesterday in secondary schools across both public and private institutions.

A total of eight schools have initiated the election process thus far. Seychelles NATION visited Perseverance school at around 11am, where the school had five candidates – three boys and two girls – who were anxiously awaiting the choices of their peers. As the previous year, students aged 14 to 17 were eligible to cast their votes.

The coordinator of the Seychelles National Youth Assembly (SNYA), Janetta Ally, shared she was very impressed with this year’s election process so far.

“Compared to last year we have observed effective communication with the schools and it shows in the preparations of the election process,” she shared.
