Introducing micro-fragmentation technique for coral reef restoration

A group of individuals conducting research on corals or the species' restoration are taking part in a five-day masterclass on a new technique called micro-fragmentation.

It is a revolutionary approach developed by Dr David Vaughan. He is the founder and head of the ‘Plant a Million Corals’, an organisation based in Florida in the United States, focused on promoting coral reef restoration and carrying out and develop new techniques so as to produce more resilient corals faster.

This technique involves cutting corals into smaller fragments that grow significantly faster than traditional methods. It accelerates coral growth and represents a significant advancement in reef restoration efforts.
