United Seychelles party president Dr. Patrick Herminie’s message of sympathy following the passing of Geva Rene |13 May 2023
‘Her tremendous achievement is a testimony of her devotion’
“It is with deep sorrow that the United Seychelles party learned about the passing away of an iconic personality in Seychelles’ history, Mrs Geva Rene.
“Mrs Rene was the former wife of former President, France Albert Rene who was the founder of the United Seychelles party. She worked tirelessly to bring about independence for our people and contributed immensely towards social justice for all Seychellois.
“A teacher and loving mother, Mrs Rene is remembered for her love for the children of Seychelles. As the chairperson of the National Council for Children and a fervent advocate for children’s rights and well-being for many years, she supported and defended the needs and interests of the children of Seychelles.
“Her tremendous achievement is a testimony of her devotion. She was widely respected and admired for her generosity and compassion for those in need. A patriot at heart, who will be missed by many but her legacy and impact on our lives will continue to live in the annals of our history forever.
“The United Seychelles mourns the loss of this beautiful soul and joins all party members and the people of Seychelles to convey our deepest sympathy to the family and relatives.
“Our deepest sympathies also to her sons, Glenny, David and Francis. May you have the strength and fortitude to overcome your great loss.
“May her soul rest in eternal peace.”
