‘The health of women and newborns is the very foundation of a healthy society’

“My dear Seychellois sisters, mothers, and families,

“Today, on World Health Day, we join the global community in focusing on a matter of profound importance: the survival and well-being of women and their babies. This year’s theme resonates deeply, particularly at this critical moment for global health.

“The health of women and newborns is the very foundation of a healthy society. Their well-being directly impacts the strength and future of our nation. As individuals, we must recognise our role in supporting pregnant women, new mothers, and ensuring a nurturing environment for infants. This includes promoting healthy pregnancies through proper nutrition and care, and fostering supportive family and community networks.
