The United Seychelles Party has congratulated Cyril Ramaphosa on his re-election as the party leader of the African National Congress (ANC).

In a letter addressed to President Ramaphosa, the United Seychelles party leader, Dr Patrick Herminie, writes:

“I would like to convey my warmest congratulations to you and that of the United Seychelles Party for your landslide victory and subsequent re-election as the Party Leader of the African National Congress (ANC).

“Your victory is a clear testament of the confidence that the people of South Africa have in your able and visionary leadership to steer the country to more peace and prosperity.

“The theme of the 55th National Congress ‘defend and advance the gains of freedom: unity through renewal’ is testimony of hard work, dedication and efforts of the ANC Party to restore its relevance, capability and credibility so that it continues to be an effective force for transformation in South Africa.

“We do have a common political heritage, which have helped to consolidate the strong relationship between our two sister Parties. Our forefathers have sweat and bled to bring about positive changes to our beloved nations. Our two Parties must continue to fight against new threats to our progressive values and hope for more unity, peace and prosperity on the African continent.

“The United Seychelles Party conveys its gratitude for the excellent bilateral cooperation that exists between Seychelles and South Africa in various areas.

“We hope to further strengthen the bonds of cooperation and friendship between our two countries, parties and peoples.

“We have no doubt, Your Excellency, that you will continue to serve faithfully the people of South Africa to ensure a better life for all the people of South Africa and for the unity of the continent.

“Please accept the assurances of the United Seychelles Party’s highest consideration.”
