Newly accredited French ambassador pays courtesy call on Speaker Mancienne

Speaker Mancenne presents Ambassador Berkeley-Christmann with a token

The newly accredited ambassador of France to Seychelles, Olivia Berkeley-Christmann, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Roger Mancienne, on Thursday morning.

The Speaker welcomed and congratulated the newly appointed ambassador.

They briefly discussed the smooth transition of power, political stability and democracy in Seychelles.

The two dignitaries spoke of the long and continuous cooperation between the two countries and common interests in the maritime, tourism and agricultural sectors among others. 

The ambassador also expressed her desire to further enhance cooperation in the field of education.

The Speaker also explained how the Parliament Friendship group has been dormant and highlighted the necessity for it to be revived, as this will also contribute in strengthening the working relationships between the two national parliaments.

The meeting ended with Speaker Mancienne presenting the newly accredited ambassador with a welcoming token and wishing her good luck in her new role.
