Blue Economy Day bazaar highlights ocean’s role in Seychelles’ sustainable future |20 July 2026
More than 80 exhibitors gathered at Beau Vallon on Saturday for the annual Blue Economy Day Bazaar, showcasing the diversity and potential of Seychelles’ blue economy while marking the nation’s 50th anniversary of Independence.
The event brought together government departments, private businesses, NGOs, educational institutions and entrepreneurs to promote sustainable ocean-based industries and raise public awareness of opportunities within the blue economy.
Visitors explored a wide range of locally made products, including jewellery crafted from Seychellois raw materials, recycled bags and accessories, fish and value-added seafood products. Educational displays highlighted the work of organisations in marine conservation, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism and other ocean-related sectors. Interactive games, demonstrations and cultural activities kept the public engaged throughout the day.
