As preparations for the festive season gather pace, the Office of the First Lady has received a donation of toys valued at more than R30,000 from local business Boba Republic.

The donation, presented yesterday at Bel Eau, will support two children’s Christmas initiatives – The Tropical Santa Shoebox and Letter to Santa – aimed at bringing joy to children from vulnerable families.

Receiving the donation, First Lady Veronique Herminie thanked Boba Republic for its timely contribution. “Boba Republic approached us to see whether they could donate toys, and it came at exactly the right time. We are currently planning our Christmas activities, including the Letter to Santa project, where vulnerable children will write letters asking Santa for a Christmas gift,” she said.

She explained that while some children often request expensive electronic devices or gaming equipment, the donated toys are ideal for ensuring many children receive meaningful Christmas presents.
