United Seychelles congratulates Xi Jinping on re-election as CPC’s general secretary |27 October 2022
“On behalf of the United Seychelles Party and on my own behalf, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations on Your Excellency’s re-election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Your re-election is a testament of the confidence of the Chinese people in your vision and in the governance of one of the largest economies in the world.
“The United Seychelles Party followed with interest the work of the 20th National Congress of CPC that set the directions of future dynamic development of the People’s Republic of China. We are convinced that your strong leadership will bring about more prosperity, peace and stability to the people of China.
“China has evolved, by leaps and bounds, in the last decades; from the foundation of the ancient ‘Silk Road’ in 138 BC to the ‘modern silk road’ that is now segmented into six overland belts and three maritime roads. The China Belt and Road Initiative connects not only Asia and Europe but also Africa to ensure greater connectivity and promote commerce between China and the rest of the world.
“The United Seychelles Party is inspired by the concept of ‘Common Prosperity’ which was first introduced by President Xi Jinping in 2021. The concept has emerged as one of the most important concepts guiding China’s policymaking. It endeavours to drive bold commitments to reduce income inequality and promote people-centred development. More importantly, it seeks to lift those ‘left behind’ and address perceived social ills stemming from capitalism and unchecked growth. These ironclad principles also underpin the tireless work of the United Seychelles Party to bring about positive change in the lives of the Seychellois people.
“The China-Seychelles relationship remain solid and our bilateral cooperation has scored tremendous achievements that are significantly improving the lives of our people. The Seychelles United Party is re-assured by many more milestones in the development of bilateral relations between our two Parties and our two countries.
Once again, Your Excellency, congratulations on your re-election!”
Dr Patrick Herminie
