National Assembly suspends today’s sitting to address fungus situation |07 June 2022
The National Assembly announced yesterday afternoon that it is suspending today’s sitting as it continues to do its utmost to put a fungal infection under control.
The National Assembly is faced with a fungal infection in the media control room, where its proceedings are recorded and transmitted. This appears to have worsened and yesterday, Monday June 6, an inspection from health officials was conducted and a decision was taken in view of the possible health risks.
The National Assembly has also discussed with the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) on the possibility of obtaining their assistance as a key stakeholder for the temporary transmission of the sittings.
The National Assembly says it is doing everything possible to resume sitting as quickly as possible.
