Stripped of all components that could harm marine life, M/V Topaz will be sunk to create an artificial reef — transforming its legacy into a living marine habitat and dive attraction

After years of loyal service safeguarding Seychelles’ waters, patrol ship M/V Topaz, one of the nation’s most iconic vessels, was officially decommissioned yesterday and will be laid to rest offshore behind Conception Island today, May 9, 2026.
