On May 18, we celebrate the International Day for Women in Maritime. We pause not only to celebrate the achievements of women in the sector but to honour their courage, resilience, and growing presence in a field that is as expansive as the ocean itself.

The theme for this year, ‘An Ocean of Opportunities for Women’, is not just a message, but a movement. It speaks to the untapped potential, the limitless space, and the ever-growing opportunities that exist for women in this dynamic sector. The maritime industry is evolving, and it is clear that its future must be inclusive, balanced, and driven by diverse leadership. Gender balance is not about equality alone it is about strength. When women are present and empowered in maritime roles, from the engine room to the boardroom, the sector becomes more innovative, more agile, and more prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
