Maldivian President on State visit in Seychelles next week |27 July 2019

The President of the Republic of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, will arrive in Seychelles on Friday August 2, 2019, on his first State visit.

President Solih will be on a two-day visit accompanied by a high level delegation, comprising three of his ministers and other high level officials of the Maldivian government.

During his visit, President Solih will be meeting President Danny Faure in a tête-à-tête and conduct bilateral discussions on various areas of cooperation namely tourism, Blue economy, fisheries, youth and sports, among others.

While in Seychelles, President Solih will also take part in several activities customary to all visiting heads of state.

As small island states, Seychelles and Maldives share many challenges and concerns, hence this enhancement of bilateral relations is to benefit both countries mutually.

The two neighbouring island states originally established diplomatic relations in July 1980.
