Maritime stakeholders receive updated hydrographic maps

The Minister for Transport, Antony Derjacques, officially handed over soft copies of updated hydrographic maps to various departments and entities during a brief ceremony at the ministry’s headquarters, Botanical House, yesterday morning.

This aims to ensure that all relevant stakeholders – the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF), the department of Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, the department of Land Transport, the department of Energy and Climate Change, the Seychelles Petroleum Company (Seypec), the Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) and the Department of Information, Communication and Technology (DICT) – have access to the most current hydrographic data to support maritime safety, planning and development.

Through bilateral cooperation with countries such as India and the United Kingdom in the field of hydrography, the ministry has received updated hydrographic information – an important step toward enhancing Seychelles’ maritime safety and development.
