Cabinet considers several legal and policy memoranda |13 August 2020
President Danny Faure yesterday chaired a scheduled meeting of the cabinet at which a number of legal and policy memoranda were considered.
Cabinet approved for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between The Republic of Seychelles and Travizory Border Security SA for the development of a Health Travel Authorization system to assist Seychelles in the safe reopening of its borders to international travellers.
Cabinet approved the Broadcasting and Telecommunications (Per-second Billing by Operators of Public Land Mobile Network) Regulations, 2020.
Cabinet also approved for the Seychelles Ports Authority to introduce additional fees for super yachts visiting Seychelles.
Cabinet approved for the rate of the allowance for board members of the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) to be prescribed and published in law.
Cabinet was updated on the Perseverance Waste Project, following discussions with partners working in the district.
Cabinet approved for the import permit requirements on panels that can be bolted onto the shell of motor vehicles to be amended to provide more ease for the motor vehicles dealers.
Cabinet also approved the National Payment System Modernisation Plan to promote a system that is convenient, affordable, reliable, efficient and safe with the main aim of increasing trust in Seychelles’ financial system.
Cabinet was briefed on the Covid-19 situation globally and locally.
Cabinet also addressed pertinent issues raised by the department of health in line with the implementation of measures to continue to safeguard the population from Covid-19.
