CBS launches the 2027 edition of The Guy Morel High Achievement Scholarship |03 October 2026

The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) has launched the ninth edition of the Guy Morel High Achievement Scholarship programme. The application window is now open, and the application deadline is January 29, 2027.

The initiative offers two fully funded scholarships – one for undergraduate studies and one for postgraduate studies – to outstanding individuals who demonstrate both academic and non-academic excellence. Eligible applicants must be Seychellois citizens and hold either an A-Level certificate or a Baccalaureate.

Since its inception in 2018, the programme has supported 11 talented individuals in pursuing higher education, contributing to the continuous development of a pool of highly skilled professionals within the local financial services sector.

In line with the programme’s aim to respond to emerging areas of expertise and the evolving needs of the financial sector, the 2027 edition introduces Digital Forensics as a new field of study, further expanding the range of fields available to scholarship applicants.

At the undergraduate level, applicants may choose to pursue studies in the following fields: Economics, Accounting, Finance, Law, Banking, Computer Programming, Information Technology, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Forensics.

At the postgraduate level, the scholarship covers the following fields: Financial Technology, Cybersecurity, Financial Journalism, Financial Law, Taxation and Customs Management, Public Finance Management, Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance, Sustainable Finance, Risk Management, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Forensics.

The outcome of the selection process will be announced at the start of March 2027. As with previous awards, successful applicants will have the opportunity to pursue their studies at a university of their choice, either on campus or through distance learning.

Further information on the scholarship, including eligibility criteria and application guidelines, is available on the CBS website: https://www.cbs.sc/Scholarship.html. Candidates may also contact CBS on 4282142 or by email at cbsscholarships@cbs.sc
