Young dancers make Seychelles proud on global stage |12 September 2026

For a group of young dancers from Seychelles, stepping onto an international stage meant more than competing for medals. Diamonds Dancing Class faced dancers from several countries at the Global Dance Supreme Championship in Thailand in July 2026, reaching the finals and returning home with stronger confidence, valuable experience, and impressive results.

The championship marked another milestone for the group, following their earlier participation in South Africa. Months of preparation went into the journey, with dancers, instructors, parents, and supporters working together on choreography, costumes, and travel arrangements. Intensive rehearsals focused on synchronisation, musicality, energy, facial expressions, stage presence, formation changes, and overall performance quality.

Coach and manager Janie Tamboo described the trip as both a proud moment and a significant learning experience.

“I am very proud of their performance in Thailand. For many of the children, this was a big experience because they were competing on an international stage and representing Seychelles,” she said. “They showed great commitment, discipline, and confidence, and despite the pressure and excitement, they gave their best on stage.”
