SCAA hosts high-level ICAO delegation from ESAF office

The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) hosted a high-level delegation from the Eastern and Southern African (ESAF) office of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). The four-member delegation, led by Regional Director Lucy Mbugua, was on a working visit from June 29 to July 3, 2026.

The visit comes as SCAA prepares the Seychelles aviation sector for a major ICAO safety audit under the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP), scheduled for August 2027. This audit is an international evaluation of Seychelles’ aviation system, assessing how effectively the country implements ICAO’s Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), and the strength of its regulatory framework, systems, and oversight capabilities.
