Students engage judiciary in ‘Hot Seat’ event

 

Secondary school students from across Mahé were given a unique opportunity to learn more about the judiciary and the wide range of careers available within the legal profession during the annual ‘Hot Seat’ event, organised by the National Council for Children (NCC) in collaboration with the Judiciary at the Palais de Justice.

The students were welcomed by Chief Magistrate Brigitte Confait and lawyers Nissa Thompson and Evelyne Almeida. During the interactive session, each student was invited to ask two questions, covering topics ranging from the role of magistrates and judges to the use of artificial intelligence in the legal system.
