Veronique Nibourette is the new PS for Blue Economy
Veronique Nibourette is the new principal secretary for Blue Economy.
Ms Nibourette’s appointment, which took effect as of February 23, 2026, was officially announced by the President’s Office yesterday.
Ms Nibourette is currently in her second year of the Doctorate of Business Administration at the University of Seychelles.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Australia; a Master of Science in Ocean Affairs from the World Maritime University in Malmö, Sweden; and a Master’s Degree in Humanities in International Maritime Legislation from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute, Malta.
She also holds a Higher Certificate in Law from the University of London, United Kingdom.
Notably, she is the only Seychellois woman to have attended the World Maritime University to date.
Ms Nibourette brings with her extensive experience in both the public service and private sectors, having served in various senior positions over the years. She has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic management capabilities, as well as a firm commitment to public service.
She has served in several senior leadership roles, including legal officer in the Land Transport Department and senior registration officer with the Seychelles Maritime Safety Administration. She also served as project manager with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where she managed the Joint Management Area Stand-Alone project on behalf of Seychelles and Mauritius. In addition, she held the position of principal maritime officer in the Blue Economy Department.
Prior to her appointment, Ms Nibourette occupied the post of chief policy analyst in the Ministry of Transport, Port and Civil Aviation.
