Main polling day on Mahé |29 September 2025

Voters satisfied with how process unfolded
Despite several polling stations opening later than scheduled, most of those Seychelles NATION visited on the main polling day on Saturday expressed satisfaction with the whole process.
Voters from 26 electoral areas were called to cast their ballots and as is customary, long queues were observed way before 7am in the districts that the Seychelles NATION team toured. According to the Electoral Officers, the exercise was delayed as they had to tally the ballots from special polling stations.
Among the electoral areas visited was the Anse Royale polling station located at the Seychelles Business Academy (SBSA). From the onset, the atmosphere was calm and orderly, with many residents expressing satisfaction at how smoothly the process unfolded. “As soon as we entered the premises, we could hear voters talking about how smooth the process was, and they could not believe it would be so fast,” one observer noted.
