Incumbent Wavel Ramkalawan secured 29,230 votes in the first round of the presidential election.
Seychelles NATION: You are heading into the rerun after a closely contested first round. What do you believe the results say about the mood and priorities of the Seychellois electorate today?
Wavel Ramkalawan: I believe Seychellois are now reflecting seriously on what happened in 2016, when LDS won a majority in the National Assembly. With that majority there was genuine cooperation, and I think most people would agree the Sixth Assembly was the most productive so far, with a better level of debate and meaningful contributions.
