In a celebration of legacy, loyalty, and national service, the Seychelles Petroleum Company marked its 40th anniversary with a prestigious long service award night on Saturday at Eden Bleu hotel. The event, held under the theme of honouring those who have fuelled the company’s journey over the decades, brought together dignitaries, partners, and employees in a night of recognition and reflection.
President Wavel Ramkalawan was the guest of honour at the event. Also in attendance were Vice President Ahmed Afif, Speaker of the National Assembly Roger Mancienne, several Cabinet ministers, leader of government business, members of the National Assembly, Seychelles Petroleum Company (Seypec) chairperson and board members, partners from the petroleum and maritime industry, as well as current and former employees of the company.
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of staff who have served the company for 20 years or more. These long-serving employees were awarded for their steadfast dedication, receiving accolades and tokens of appreciation in front of a full-house audience. A particularly emotional moment came when Seypec honoured two of its original employees who have remained in service since the company’s founding in 1985 – Janice Tirant and Joe Louis Accouche.
