With the aim of supporting, uplifting and encouraging single mothers on Praslin, a special session was organised on Saturday by the Office of the First Lady.

The session held at the Oasis Hotel, Restaurant & Spa at Grand Anse Praslin, was led by consultant Samantha Charlette.

The women who were present had one common journey – raising their children on their own – which is not an easy task but it is a rewarding one as it builds these women into role models of strength.

Words of encouragement were shared by First Lady Linda Ramkalawan at the start of the session, reminding the mothers that they are not alone, they are women of strength and resilience.

Throughout the session, the mothers were able to express themselves freely, share their experience and motivate each other. When asked what do they love the most about being a mother, most of them mentioned that the love they receive from their children makes them feel loved and appreciated in return.
