SIF launches giveback policy

The Seychelles Islands Foundation has launched its giveback policy which aims to support projects in education, sports, healthcare, culture and conservation.

The foundation has been committed to community engagement. For many years, it has actively supported the Praslin community, and last year this was formalised with the launch of the ‘giveback programme’. In its continued efforts, the Seychelles Islands Foundation (SIF) developed a giveback policy, which serves as a guiding framework for funding requests.

This policy was launched yesterday in a ceremony held at the Vallée de Mai reserve. Present were the Minister for Local Government and Community Affairs, Rose-Marie Hoareau; Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment, Flavien Joubert; chairman of SIF's board of trustees, Bernard Georges; other board members’ SIF's chief executive, Dr Frauke Fleischer-Dogley; and other officials from the foundation.

Among the policy's aims are to promote the adoption of renewable energy, introduce clean technologies in schools and support other community-focused initiatives that extend far beyond SIF's immediate operational boundaries.

Guests viewed a video showing past initiatives supported by the foundation through its giveback programme, highlighting the positive impact it has in the Praslin community. The new giveback logo was also unveiled. It symbolises the SIF's profound commitment towards conservation and community. The design features abstract human figures, representing the communities being supported through the programme.
