Justine Madeleine was awarded the prestigious President’s Cup for Independent School of Seychelles – A-Level class of 2024, during a ceremony held at the Eden Bleu Hotel on Saturday afternoon.

Justine, who was among 28 other students who graduated, successfully completed her studies in three subjects namely Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry. She received her cup from President Wavel Ramkalawan.

“I am very excited and my heart is racing. It was a big surprise,” expressed Justine in a heartfelt interview.

During the ceremony she was described as a dedicated and caring individual who consistently demonstrated her willingness to help others. Justine volunteered her time at children’s homes and orphanages and is currently doing work attachment at a hospital.

Reflecting on the past two years of studies, the young graduate described it as a tough one with little time for herself except on Sundays.

“During the week I had to keep up with my studies and other related events so I only had Sundays for some personal time and my family.  But it was all worth it when I opened the digital slip to see my results and of course today when I won this award,” she shared.

Justine, who aspires to become a doctor, plans to pursue her studies at university level. Her advice to other students is to always follow their heart, passion and not be afraid of failure.
