As the rainy season sets in, the increase in standing water creates the ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes in Seychelles. This seasonal surge in mosquito activity is a cause for concern, especially with the heightened risk of diseases such as dengue fever, chikungunya, and Zika. These diseases, transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, are a major public health threat and can lead to significant discomfort and severe health complications.
