• Fund will finance a sanctuary garden

Autism Seychelles has received a donation of R75,000 from Corvina Investment Company that will go towards the creation of a sanctuary garden at the Autism Support Centre, North East Point.

It was the executive assistant and business development coordinator, Richao Liao, who presented the cheque to the chairperson of Autism Seychelles, Stephanie Desnousse, in a short ceremony held at the centre yesterday afternoon.

Present at the event were Rod Harrington, chief executive of Corvina Investment Company, along with staff from the company and the centre, as well as members of Autism Seychelles.

Delivering a short speech, Ms Liao said that the sanctuary will be thoughtfully design to awaken and soothe the senses.

She highlighted that for children on the autism spectrum, access to spaces like a sanctuary garden to support emotional regulation, to encourage playful exploration and open new pathways for learning all through connection with nature, is rare.
