The sum will go towards the government’s national relief fund set up to assist victims of last week’s calamities, namely the explosion in Petit Paris and flooding in the northern part of Mahé.

Mrs Lin said the donation represents a sign of the enduring friendship between Seychelles and China.

She added that for the past forty-seven years of diplomatic relations, Seychelles and China have always respected and trusted each other and will always be there to help each another for “a friend in need is a friend indeed”.

Furthermore, China will maintain its firm commitment to supporting its brothers and sisters in need like Seychelles, especially during this challenging and difficult times.
