Deputy Speaker Afif welcomes newly accredited Serbian ambassador to Seychelles |19 October 2019

The newly accredited ambassador of Serbia to Seychelles, Aleksandar Ristic, met the deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Ahmed Afif, on Thursday morning.

Hon. Afif welcomed Ambassador Ristic to the National Assembly and spoke of the various common interests that exist between the two countries.

They discussed the crucial areas of national cooperation that could be expanded, such as tourism, fisheries and trade exchanges.

The meeting also involved discussions on the dynamic progression of the National Assembly as the legislative branch of government, especially in its expansive oversight role on the Executive and the political development of the country.

Ambassador Ristic also paid a courtesy call on the leader of the opposition, Wavel Ramkalawan, and the leader of government business, Charles De Commarmond.

Hon. Afif was accompanied by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Jutta Alexis.
