President sends warm Diwali wishes to Hindu community |04 November 2023

The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan has sent warm Diwali wishes to the Hindu Council of Seychelles and all members of the Hindu community across the island.

“On this auspicious occasion, on behalf of the country and on my personal behalf, I convey my warmest wishes to everyone for this year's Diwali celebration.

“May the happiness of this Diwali celebration brighten as many lives across our beloved islands. It is my sincere hope it brings more peace and harmony for the Seychelles Hindu community and the whole of Seychelles. May joy, prosperity and happiness continue to illuminate your lives and your homes.

“With so many challenges in our world at this time, which may cause us to see the bleak side of life, the Diwali Festival of lights remains a time that brings back the glimmer of hope through the light that illuminates over darkness. This is a reminder that we must never lose sight of the power of hope and that we are capable of overcoming the toughest of times through faith and love.

“Wishing everyone much blessings and may the festival of Diwali this year be one of the brightest ever.
