Pointe Larue, Perseverance girls dominate
• Plaisance boys clinch another victory
The girls of Pointe Larue and Perseverance put on a footballing masterclass last week, dominating Beau Vallon and the International School.
Kicking off another spectacular round of matches was the Pointe Larue (Everton) v Beau Vallon (Chelsea) match. As anticipated, the Pointe Larue team easily outplayed their opponents, securing a 7-0 victory, propelling them to the second spot on the league table.
Meanwhile, that same day, International School slipped up after their previous strong performance against Independent School, coming up against a seemingly invincible Perseverance. In a powerful display of attacking football, Perseverance cruised to a 13-1 victory.
The week of matches ended with a goalless draw between Belonie (Manchester City) and Plaisance (Liverpool).
In the boys’ league, last week featured two exciting matches, starting with the Mont Fleuri (Tottenham) v Beau Vallon (Chelsea) game. Although Mont Fleuri were favoured to win, Beau Vallon had other plans. With unwavering determination, they managed to hold Mont Fleuri to a 1-1 draw, defying expectations.
The Plaisance Secondary (Liverpool) boys’ team faced a challenging battle as they fought for another win. Initially, it seemed as though English River might finally overcome the undefeated team; however, unsurprisingly, Plaisance scored their winning goal in the second half, securing their 10th victory.
The first round of matches in the boys’ division has now concluded, and matches are scheduled to resume in late August. In the meantime, the girls’ matches will continue until the end of July.
