Brilliant performances as competition resumes
- Mahe Skimmers Sports Club emerge on top
After four months without competing, local swimmers were back in action during the Grand Prix competition hosted by the Seychelles Aquatics Federation between Thursday and Sunday of last week at the Roche Caïman swimming pool.
The event gathered swimmers from the three most elite teams, namely Mahe Skimmers Sports Club, Aquafins Sports Club, and Toto Sports Club, alongside those from inner island teams who competed fiercely over the four days of competition.
After the fourth and final day, Mahe Skimmers Sports Club emerged as the winners with a final count of 150 medals – 63 gold, 50 silver, and 37 bronze –, followed by Aqufins Sports Club in second place with 64 medals medals – 24 gold, 19 silver, and 21 bronze) –, while Toto Sports Club finished third overall with final medal count of 20 – two gold, 9 silver, and nine bronze.
Speaking to Sports NATION, chairman of the Seychelles Aquatics Federation (SAF) Muriel Morgan noted that the 2nd Grand Prix of 2025 was one that was positively emotional for all.
