New Blue Safari concept proposes a discovery of Seychelles’ remote outer islands |15 June 2018

The Seychelles archipelago, often described as the islands dreams are made of, attract thousands of visitors each year, from honeymooners to families looking for the perfect getaway.

Blue Safari Seychelles is the latest concept, which visitors are being enticed to discover. This is an experiential concept, focusing on exploring the magical marine and wildlife in the outer islands of Seychelles.

The new concept was launched last month at ‘We Are Africa’ – a gathering of high-end African travel brands, world-class buyers and top international press, held in Cape Town, South Africa.

Attendees had the chance to meet two of the dedicated Blue Safari Seychelles’ conservationists – Sam Balderson and Josep Nogués – who hosted a training session. They provided an introduction to ocean conservation, as well as other related topics, and explained from different perspectives how Blue Safari Seychelles is an innovative project that has infinite potential.

‘Talk The Talk’ sessions enabled international media, respected trade and industry professionals present, to gain a comprehensive insight into the exciting vision proposed by Blue Safari Seychelles, which for the first time has joined the atolls of Astove, Cosmoledo and the Amirantes together with Alphonse Island, to create an extraordinary voyage of discovery.

Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about the diverse ecosystems and environments that exist on Alphonse Island, as well as on Poivre Island, Cosmoledo Atoll and Astove Atoll, and the steps Blue Safari Seychelles is taking to preserve and protect the Seychelles’ outer islands.

Blue Safari Seychelles also revealed their brand new Cosmoledo Eco Lodge, the restoration and refurbishment of the Coral House Lodge on Astove Atoll as well as the introduction of two new four-bedroomed beach villas and upgrading of the five beach suites with plunge pools on Alphonse Island.

The marketing manager for Blue safari, Seychelles, Amanda Lang said the new concept was well received at the We Are Africa event.

“Many of our trade partners are conscious of conservation and how this plays a big role in tourism. Seychelles being so diverse, boasting a very healthy ecosystem, can market the destination as one of the last Eden on earth.  Blue Safari Seychelles takes on a very responsible role in maintaining conservation within our tourism management and activities, tied in with a healthy input on our environment,” said Ms Lang.

She added that “the outer islands are still very much unexplored, which to be honest has preserved these gems, marine life and wildlife. The operation is small, professional and specialised therefore this experience will not tamper with the exclusivity of the group and responsibility to operate with an eco-ethos”.
