C’est Noël Christmas album raises R70,000 for charity |04 January 2017
The C'est Noël Charity Project 2016 has raised R70,000 which have been shared between two homes.
Foyer de la Providence has received R60,000 while R10,000 has gone to the Maison Maurice Roh (Ste Elisabeth elderly home).
The money was handed over by the initiators of the project, Billy and Erica Rangasamy, a Seychellois couple currently living and working in Abu Dhabi but who have got Seychelles close to heart.
The project was in the form of a Christmas album on which featured some great names in the local music industry.
Billy said that the great accomplishment will bring joy to the children and make their New Year a wonderful one.
“The unity among all the artists was remarkable and the recent video clip filmed also across three different countries and produced by the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) brought smiles to faces and galvanised the talents from Seychelles. It was good to see the various artists working to help reach out to the less fortunate,” he said.
The title track of the album, C'est Noël, written and master-minded by Billy and Erica and musically arranged by Emmanuel Marie, was a unique initiative and was well appreciated.
“Thanks also to the public locally and overseas who bought their CDs or offered sponsorship to support the project. The biggest thank you and praise go to God Almighty and all the glory belongs to him,” he said.
After the handover of the money, a pizza party was organised at the Foyer de la Providence, followed by a time of sharing songs and distribution of small gifts to the children.
The Seychelles Universelle Artists would like to wish everyone a blessed 2017. Happy New Year!
