Basketball - National team coaches wanted |23 July 2016
The Seychelles Basketball Federation is once again looking for coaches to take the national teams forward as they are expected to compete in the Afro basket tournaments soon.
The SBF are now taking applications from all qualified coaches who would be interested in taking the reins of the men’s and women’s national teams, along with applications for assistant coach positions for each of the two sides.
While the main focus of the incoming coaches will be to put together a side who can be competitive on the continental front, it has not been revealed if that same coach will be in charge for the 2018 Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) in Mauritius. It could all depend on the coaches’ achievements in the next year or so.
The last national team coaches were Tony Juliette for men, while the women’s team were led by Alix Allisop. And whoever steps in now will be hoping to take the team to new heights and build on the sport’s growing popularity despite issues faced recently.
Coaches interested in applying for the posts have until August 19 to submit their applications to the chairman of the coaches’ commission of the SBF, with CV and certificates attached.
