MCB introduces Stand-alone ATMs at airport |27 March 2014
Travellers and members of the general public have since March 21, 2014 been experiencing for the first time a Stand-alone ATM (Automated Teller machine) launched by the Mauritius Commercial Bank (Seychelles) Limited (MCB).
The first of its kind in Seychelles, the Stand-alone ATM is the newest at the Seychelles International Airport.
Although MCB’s ATM services are not new at this location, the newly installed type of ATM is the first to be launched in Seychelles.
This ATM is one which is stand-alone allowing for it to be placed in different locations without the need for building any support structure around it. All functions are enclosed within the ATM. This type of ATM is commonly used in remote areas and in areas where there is a constant need to move such services.
A communiqué from MCB writes that the bank is innovative in the way it delivers its services, especially with the introduction of these types of ATMs in Seychelles taking in mind the changes taking place at the Seychelles International Airport which is undergoing renovation and upgrading its facilities to cater for the increase in air traffic. This is indeed a first for Seychelles and this new type of ATM brings an ease of service which allows for minimal interruption in banking services.
The communiqué adds that there may be an increase in the number of these types of ATMs in Seychelles in the future but it gives MCB great pride in partnering with the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) to bring this service first and foremost at such a location, the Seychelles International Airport – the gateway into Seychelles.
