SECOND BATCH OF TUCK SHOP OPERATORS UNDERGO TRAINING |15 January 2014
Following the successful organisation of the first training held on 13th and 14th August last year for tuck shop operators/staff, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Health will be conducting a similar training on 14th and 15th January for a second group of tuck shop operators/staff from the following schools:
The training was held in the Sheikh Kalifa Training Room at the Ministry of Health and will be followed by practical session at the Seychelles Tourism Academy on Saturday 18th and 25th January. A similar training will be conducted on Praslin during the April school holiday for tuck shop operators/staff from schools on Praslin, La Digue and Silhouette.
The main objective of the training is to educate tuck shop operators on their specific roles and responsibilities as service providers within the school’s setting and how they link up with the school’s curriculum in reinforcing classroom healthy eating education. The training is crucial in ensuring that tuck shop services in the schools meet ALL the minimum required standards, are not too business oriented, but more importantly support classroom healthy eating education.
