SCCI aims high, plans own building and bulletin |28 March 2012
SCCI chairman Dr V Ramadoss said this in a telephone interview with Seychelles Nation yesterday, during which he said the building will cost R12 million and asked more businesses and industries to join the chamber and those who are already members to support it.
“I plan to rededicate myself to three important national causes:
“First as a central committee (CC) member of the ruling Parti Lepep I want to make my contribution count by supporting especially the people of Mont Fleuri because I’m the CC member responsible for that district and it is where my office is situated.
“Secondly I want the SCCI to move with the new dynamic economy of the country and help boost businesses and industry so that our country can develop even faster.
“Finally, I am honoured to have been named as the Parti Lepep’s treasurer. It is my intention to boost the party’s funds so that it can continue doing the good work it does in the country. I am working out plans to raise money for the party with its other officials, and as everybody knows, the party’s President, Mr James Michel, is a straightforward man and all funds must be raised in transparent and honest ways.
Dr Ramadoss said the proposed SCCI building will have facilities for conferences and training especially for the chamber’s members who can also get dedicated advice from experts to improve their firms.
“I’m happy that President Michel’s government has paved the way in encouraging the private sector to take the lead in steering the economy, which has been re-energised.
“This is why I want the SCCI to be invigorated more than ever, to move the country forward and allow more businesses to flourish and help the people by creating more and better employment opportunities,” he said, adding he is proud that many Seychellois benefit from his many successful businesses.
“Whatever money the businesses generate, I invest it right here in this country because as a Seychellois I want to see this country grow economically and develop even more.”
