Biggest group of Belgian tour operators on familiarisation visit |10 December 2011
This is the biggest group of Belgian travel agents to have been on an educational visit to Seychelles.
Their visit was organised by the Creole Travel Services (CTS), one of Seychelles’ top destination management companies, in partnership with the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), alongside other trade partners.
They arrived in Seychelles on December 1 and left the islands on December 5 after an activity-filled programme that had them visiting various sites of attractions and tourism establishments of the islands of Mahe, Praslin, La Digue and Sainte Anne.
Part of their itinerary also consisted of a destination workshop, which was hosted by the Sainte Anne Resort on Saturday December 3. The workshop was put together by the CTS, and saw the participation of partner STB, as well as representatives of Banyan Tree Resort, the Constance Lémuria Resort, Raffles Praslin Resort, Indian Ocean Lodge, Denis Private Island, Cerf Island Resort, Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove, and MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa.
On the evening of Sunday December 4, the group was hosted to a dinner by the STB, after which they had the opportunity to enjoy the local music and dance.
The head of CTS, Guillaume Albert, said that it was a pleasure for them to help with the visit of this large group of travel agents from Belgium.
“Creole Travel Services assisted with transfers and trips around the islands so that the group could better appreciate what Seychelles has to offer,” said Mr Albert.
STB’s marketing executive, Sandra Lepathy, who was assisting with the trip, said that the group’s educational visit has been successful, with the travel agents having gained greater insight of Seychelles.
“This learning experience for sure will help the travel agents to better promote and sell the destination in the Belgian market, which is seen as a lucrative market for Seychelles tourism industry with potential of boosting our visitor arrivals from the European market,” noted Ms Lepathy.
